Amanda Rheaume – SOLD OUT

Pakenham native Brad Scott opened for Amanda Rheaume.

Amanda Rheaume is blessed with a warm voice, an ear for a melody, and a strong sense of storytelling. We caught her touring in support of her fourth album, Holding Patterns, favourite from the past year. The songs are touching, heartfelt, and delightful.

Sussex

The Lioness of Lanark, Ali McCormick, opened for Sussex.

Sussex is the brainchild of Michael Emenau and Rob Lutes. They round out their sound with a handful of musical friends. The music is vibrant, lively, and bluesy – they call it vibrafolk. This was a slightly rowdy, funky, swampy bluesy night.

Big Little Lions – SOLD OUT

Our opener for Big Little Lions was Outside I’m a Giant, a talented trio from the Gatineau side of the Valley.

Big Little Lions bring beautiful harmonies and infectious melodies. A cross-border collaboration, featuring Helen Austin and Paul Otten. This award-winning (Juno 2014, Canadian Folk Music Award 2015) duo lifted hearts and set feet tapping!

Kevin Closs

Our opener for Kevin Closs was Flying Hórses, a nouveau-classical solo pianist.

Kevin Closs is an excellent fingerpicker, and a clever lyricist, who has turned his hand to many styles. In Deep, his latest project, reflects his time travelling up North as a musician-in-residence and Zodiac driver and includes sonic textures from the sounds of ice, ships at sea, and even the melody from a bird song.
