Amos the Transparent
Amos the Transparent are Ottawa stalwarts, and spent much of the pandemic recording really fun covers of songs they loved.
They made a return to the studio in 2025, and this evening will be a special outing with their new album played in its entirety.

The Weber Brothers w/ special guest Don Bray
The Weber brothers got their start hitchiking to Peterborough to sign up for Ronnie Hawkins’ backing band. Folkus regulars may remember this band backing up Brock Zeman live at Folkus for 2023’s Gravel Project — they bring incredible energy to all their live shows.
Don Bray, a renowned local picker and songwriter, will open.

Old Man Luedecke w/ special guest Heather Adeney
Old Man Luedecke hasn’t visited Folkus since 2010, and since then he’s built a career and won a couple of Junos and a pile of East Coast Music Awards. His latest album explores the bluesy side of roots music with some high-energy originals, but he will probably play some favourite hits, too.
Local singer/songwriter multi-instrumentalist Heather Adeney will open.

Danny Michel w/ special guest Matt Moodie
Danny Michel is Canadian gem who has reinvented himself multiple times, taking on guises from pop star to folkie troubadour, even recording a remarkable album in Belize with the Garifuna Collective. The common thread throughout is musicality, curiosity, and charm.
Local songwriter, singer, and familiar face behind the sound board, Matt Moodie, will take the stage for a change.

Kalle Mattson performing with his Summersets ensemble, w/ Augustine May
Summersets is the duo of Kalle Mattson and his childhood friend and long-time bandmate Andrew Sowka, who sing together in Everly-esque harmony throughout small town story, a 16-track narrative song cycle. “Most people go the opposite way: they have a band and then they go solo,” says Mattson. “But it’s great to have another voice and share the burden.”
Kalle has won or been nominated for every major prize in Canada for his three consecutive albums. Read more about how Summersets came to be.
Augustine May is a 16-year-old Ottawa area singer-songwriter who blends indie pop with elements of folk and soul-infused rock. Interview with CBC’s Alan Neal.
Our shows are still held at the Almonte Old Town Hall, third floor, in the Ron Caron Auditorium. There’s an accessible elevator you can reach from the side entrance. Doors open at 7:00, showtime is at 7:30. There will be t-shirts and music at the merch table, and cold beverages and cookies at the bar. We have a Square for payment, but cash is never a bad idea.
