It’s a very new twist on some old favourites with three much-loved local art events teaming up for one fantastic Thanksgiving weekend! Folkus is thrilled to add music to the mix.
Our 2020 season was cut short by the pandemic, and a 2021 season became impossible to even plan. We have been on a long pause since March 2020, and we are itching to bring music to our community!
That is why Folkus Concert Series, which would normally bring you awesome Canadian folk music in the dark winter months, is catching up, and collaborating with the newly minted Mississippi Mills Art Romp this coming Thanksgiving weekend.
The artists and artisans behind The Crown & Pumpkin, Art in the Attic, and the Pakenham Maple Run Tour have combined their efforts in the tour to end all tours!
With help from a Rural and Remote Arts Visibility Campaign microgrant from the SPARC Network, Folkus Concert Series will be bringing some local musicians into this amazing new mix.
On Saturday, October 9 at 3pm, we will have the pleasure of welcoming Terry Tufts, Kathryn Briggs, and Beth Tufts to the scenic Cedar Hill Christmas Tree Farm.
On Sunday, October 10 from 11am till noon, a local band called Trxtrs will perform at Clayton Community Centre.
On Sunday, October 10 at 3pm, we will be delighted to welcome Catriona Sturton, Trevor Lubin and Joe Macdonald to the charming Cartwright Springs Brewery in Pakenham.
We hope you can come out to enjoy this special fusion of local creative artists and performing artists.
